[Beginner-friendly] How to choose the perfect tea for you

"I want to enjoy tea, but there are so many varieties and I don't know which one to choose..."
Do you have such a concern?

Even within green tea, the taste, aroma, and recommended situations vary greatly.
Here are 3 tips for "how to choose the perfect tea for you."

1. Choose by "taste preference"

If you want to "enjoy a rich flavor"...

Fukamushi-cha (deep-steamed tea): Steaming tea leaves for a longer time than regular sencha results in finer tea leaves and more components dissolving into the hot water. It is characterized by its rich green color and mellow, deep flavor.

If you want to "enjoy a refreshing astringency and aroma"...

Sencha: You can enjoy the refreshing aroma inherent in tea and a moderate astringency. It is ideal for when you want to refresh yourself or as tea with meals.

If you want to "relax and enjoy a roasted aroma"...

Hojicha: Hojicha, made from tea leaves roasted over high heat, is characterized by its fragrant aroma. It contains less caffeine, making it recommended for relaxing before bed or for children.

2. Choose by "brewing style"

For those who want to "slowly enjoy with a teapot"

Loose leaf tea is recommended. The taste changes depending on the water temperature and steeping time, allowing you to enjoy the process of "nurturing" your tea.

For those who are "busy but want an authentic taste"

Tea bags are convenient. You can enjoy delicious tea even on busy mornings.

For those who want to "easily consume all nutrients"

"Arabiki-cha (powdered green tea)" is recommended. By simply dissolving it in hot or cold water, you can consume all the nutrients contained in the tea leaves without waste.

3. Choose by commitment to "safety and security"

Since you drink it every day, knowing how it is made is also a factor in choosing.

At Wakohen, we manage everything from soil preparation to seedling planting in our vast tea plantations on the Osumi Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture. In particular, by introducing our unique "Hurricane King" technology, which uses powerful wind to blow away pests, we continue to produce tea without relying solely on chemical pesticides.

Choosing tea based on the criterion of "tea grown by harnessing the power of nature" might be a wonderful option, don't you think?
